Daily Spritz

I made myself some daily spritz from the recipe a friend gave me. It has a nice smell to it and apparently will help your hair grow because of the rosemary in it. So I will share it with you all. Let me know what you think if you use it.

If you have high blood pressure, you can’t use rosemary essential oil (EO) so you’d use lavender EO instead.
Rosemary Spritz

Boil 1-2 cups of water.
After boiling, add 6-8 drops of rosemary EO into the water.
Let the water and EO steep for an hour.
Pour the mix into a spray bottle.
Add 2-3 drops of sage EO into the bottle and shake it up.
Refrigerate.

You can use this as often as you’d like. If it makes your scalp itch, stop using it. And if you want to do some research on essential oils and carrier oils, a good website is www.aromaweb.com.

Pre-Shampoo Deep Conditioner

Pre-shampoo Deep Conditioner

You’d use this as implied – BEFORE shampooing. Use it every week or 2 weeks. If you have High Blood Pressure, use lavender oil instead of the rosemary.

2 tbsp. olive oil
2 tbsp. jojoba oil
2 tsp. honey
6-8 drops lavender EO

A little of either coconut oil or sweet almond oil (or maybe both) (OPTIONAL)

Heat up the mixture (minus the rosemary EO) in the microwave for 20 seconds
Add the rosemary oil after heating; stir together. Of course, let it sit until it’s at a comfortable enough temperature to put on your head.

Put on your hair/scalp and let it sit for at least ½ hour. You can do housework, homework, whatever. Or, if you’re in a rush, sit under a dryer for 15-20 minutes.

Afterwards, rinse out some and wash you hair as you normally would. You don’t need to use regular conditioner after shampooing.

Apple Cider Vinegar Rinse

A friend of mine sent me the recipe. The more hair products you use (which hopefully isn’t a lot), the more you’ll want to clarify. Clarifying your hair is always a good idea to remove the build-ups some products leave on your hair which can make your hair dull and lifeless. It also helps your scalp by removing the build up as well. Her routine is every 2 weeks: deep condition, shampoo, clarify after shampoo.

Apple cider vinegar (ACV) rinse

4 parts water
1 part ACV
A few drops sage Essential Oil (or any other nice smelling EO) to take out some of the smell

I don’t usually measure it; I just use common sense and use a lot more water than ACV. Mix it up and use after shampooing. Pour over your head and massage into hair/scalp. You don’t have to rinse it out if you don’t want to. I usually don’t, but sometimes I’ll rinse out a little bit.
*I used Sage and Peppermint EO when I did mine. I also picked up a trick off of another website which was once your pour the ACV rinse over your head, you can place the container and let the remains drip into the container. You can keep doing that until the entire mixture is gone.
The Apple Cider Vinegar can be brought in any supermarket and it's not expensive at all, the smell however is very rich lol. but using the water to dilute and your essential oils helps alot. When I was done, what was left over wasnt a very strong smell at all, in fact it was quite pleasant. Well enjoy the recipe and let me know how it turns out.

My Trip to the Whole Foods Store

Last week I tried for the first time the Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) Rinse my friend told me about. Well I have the recipe for all those who asked. I will continue to post ones that I come across that I think will benefit anyone out there. I will also put websites and all that.
Last sunday after working, I went to The Whole Foods Market on 23rd street because I knew I needed to get my essential oils which seem to be present in all the recipes I have seen thus far.Well Ladies I spent 70+ bucks...which further goes to show anything good for you aint cheap. My list of products included the following: Sweet Almond Oil, Jojoba Oil, then the essential oils (EO) peppermint, sage, rosemary and lavender, I also got some shampoos for my damn scalp which is out of control.
I got Jason Products, I got the Natural Bitoin Shampoo Hair Fortifying Shampoo and the Dandruff Relief Shampoo.
I tried the Dandruff Relief Shampoo and I loved it, It really calmed my scalp down and then immediately after I did the ACV rinse, I can't even begin to say how refreshed my scalp felt, for real!. Then I used the Jojoba oil and massaged my scalp with it. AHH I will put the recipe up, for all those who asked.

Picture of Kinky Twists

Kinky Twists Posted by Hello

My cam is a little bootleg so please bear with me. But you get the jist. They are just 2 strand twists with extentions and I love them cuz I can put them up....do whatever really and go...that is actually my thought on braids...Easy.

Kinky Twists

This is one of my favorite hairstyles. It's quick to put in, quick to take out and easy to maintain and even if grows out...it don't look all that bad. I got the kinky twists put in about 2 weeks ago. Actually tomorrow makes 2 weeks, and to be honest they are either growing out quickly or the braids are sliding out. So I think I will only keep them in for another 2 weeks before I take them out. I took a pic the day I got them done so I will try and post a picture of it.

Welcome

Welcome to my World!

This is just a journal of my hair journey. I am returning to my natural state...which means no chemical alterations to the hair that God has blessed me with. I have done this once before and I had a hard time with it then so I reverted. This time around I hope to carry through. So I will chronicle it all here.
